Dc part of the current is 3. Ac part of the current is 4coswt. RMS of this ac component is 4/sqrt(2) which is 2*sqrt(2). Resultant current is sqrt(3*3 + (2*sqrt(2))^2) which is = sqrt(9+18)=sqrt(17). [sqrt->square root]
