   Eligibility
                
                
                  The candidate with following academic 
                  background are eligible to appear for GATE 2007.
                
                
                  
                  
                    Bachelors degree 
                    holders in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / 
                    Pharmacy and those who are in the final or pre-final year of 
                    such programmes
                    

                    Master's degree 
                    holders in any branch of Science / Mathematics / Statistics 
                    / Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in 
                    the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
                    

                    Candidates in 
                    the second or higher year of four year integrated masters 
                    degree programme (Post-BSc) in Engineering / Technology / or 
                    in the third year or higher year of five year integrated 
                    Master's degree programme and Dual degree programme in 
                    Engineering / Technology
                    

                    Candidates with 
                    qualifications obtained through examinations conducted 
                    conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE 
                    (e.g.AMIE) as equivalent to B.E / B.Tech (Those who have 
                    completed Section A or equivalent of such professional 
                    courses are also eligible).
                  
                  
                
                
                  
                  There are two different process by which a  
                  candidate can apply for GATE 2007 namely "ONLINE" and "OFLINE". 
                  For general category candidates, the application fees is Rs. 
                  900/- for the online process and Rs. 1000/- for offline 
                  process. For SC/ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 400/- for online 
                  and Rs. 500/- for offline. The application fee is not 
                  refundable

                  The candidate should pay the application 

                  fee through an SBI ATM or through a Demand Draft in favour of 
                  'Chairman GATE, IIT Kanpur' on any nationalized bank payable 
                  at 'Kanpur'. The candidate must submit the payment details 
                  while filling up the online form. Candidates are required to 
                  take a printout of the online application form after 
                  successful submission of data. The printed form, with 
                  candidates signature and photograph at appropriate places, and 
                  the demand draft / original ATM transaction-slip must be sent 
                  only to The Organising chairman, GATE, IIT Kanputr, 
                  Kanpur-208016
