2. At the time of counselling, applicants, one-by-one in order of merit (in GATE score), will be offered seats depending upon their eligibility and options given in the application form.

3. The seats earmarked for SC/ST and PD Category will be filled first from among the pertinent candidates. The candidate must produce the relevant Certificates in Original. Selection within these categories will be dictated by the GATE performance and programme options exercised by the candidate.

4. Selected applicants will be given a letter of admission on the spot and they will hand over the original GATE Scorecard and the Bank Draft towards fees and deposits at the designated counter on the same day. Those applicants who do not report for counselling will not be eligible for admission in the session.5. The Institute will bear no responsibility for any postal delay in receiving the counselling letter.

7. The interview of the sponsored applicants who are short-listed will be held. Selected applicants, on receipt of the letter of the admission, must report to IIT Kharagpur for joining together with academic transcripts as will be asked for, fees and deposits to be paid, and a release letter from their employers for pursuing the programme.
